The last 10 years of innovation in the music and radio industries has put nearly the entire corpus of music and talk shows in the palms of our hands.  In so doing, our relationship to music and the spoken word has changed completely.  How can we use the wealth of data we have about this music to help us navigate the universe of audio?

Brooke is a data engineer and music nerd with over 15 years experience working in start-ups, research, academia and finance.  Currently the Director of Data Engineering at the audio streaming service Deezer, Brooke previously worked for the podcasting platform start-up Stitcher (acquired by Deezer in October 2014).  Prior to Stitcher, Brooke worked as a data engineer and consultant at Charles Schwab,  UCSF, and the National Center for Health Statistics.  He earned his master’s degree at the UC Berkeley School of Information (2005) and his undergraduate degree in sociology from University of Maryland (1997).
